One of the best things about Mary is her ability to find the specific “sticky points” for each individual body. She recognizes specific challenges associated not just with different skill levels, but with different body types as well.
I’ve watched her work with a range of body types and skill levels, and each person gets individualized feedback and help. Not only does she adjust her teaching methods for individual body types and skill levels, she also checks in with students about their comfort levels doing aerial movements, or even choreography. Some students have prior injuries, and she checks in to make sure they have comfortable options to keep them moving and progressing at a level they are comfortable with.
Not only is this good for each individual student learning, it just creates such a warm environment in every class that I think everyone finds joy in.

I really appreciate Mary’s clear instructions and cues - I never go into an exercise confused about what we are targeting, proper form or how the move will progress. Mary provides clear explanations when introducing a new exercise as to why it’s important for the skill we are training. She is quick to answer questions and provide adjustments within your ability, and also are honest when you can’t answer a question. Mary is intentional with her feedback and compliments and she is great about pushing students to perform their best while also understanding everyone is at different levels. Overall, I really trust her knowledge, appreciate her focus on and approach towards strength based flexibility, and her cheerleader attitude.
